Healing Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
In order to feel better, I adopted many different treatments from Western, Eastern and alternative sides of medicine. There are so many options out there, it can be hard to know what to do. I highly recommend the book, The Interstitial Cystitis Solution. It provides clear and practical guidance about ways to heal the body that are supported by research and clinical experience.
I adopted many of the treatments recommended in this book, and I also tuned in to the connection between my body, mind, and spirit, and worked to heal on all levels. For me, this holistic approach was crucial to feeling better. I share my healing journey in the instructional memoir, Healing through Chronic Pain. Many people have told me that reading my story opened up new avenues for healing, helped them not feel so alone in their struggle, and gave them hope.
"I was honored to work with Mary Ruth Velicki through much of her healing journey, and I am so excited she’s using her experience to bring hope and wisdom to others through The Healing Series books! We often focus solely on the physical, at the exclusion (or even the detriment) of the mind and spirit, but all three must be addressed for true healing to take place. I highly recommend this series to anyone interested in learning more about the mind-body-spirit connection when dealing with chronic pain.”
